The <\/b>Safe Glasgow Partnership<\/b><\/span><\/a> was established as a result of the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to implement the Act in way that was local to Glasgow, establishing our local scrutiny arrangements that align with our own local requirements, governance and accountability structures.\u00a0 <\/span>This is part of the City of Glasgow\u2019s Community Planning Partnership<\/span><\/a>, which Community Justice Glasgow<\/span><\/a> is also part of.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

While the primary role of the Safe Glasgow Partnership<\/b> is scrutiny of the local Police and Fire and Rescue plans it also carries out a wider remit, and so Glasgow\u2019s Hate Crime Working Group and the Glasgow Violence Against Women Partnership<\/span><\/a> (GVAWP) also report to the partnership, and Community Justice Glasgow provide regular updates. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Hate Crime Awareness Week takes place every October<\/b>, and partners across Glasgow take part in many awareness raising and promotional activities.\u00a0 <\/span>In 2020 the Hate Crime Working Group produced a promotional video \u2013 Glasgow is Our City and it\u2019s No Place for Hate<\/span><\/a> \u2013 celebrating the diversity in the city.\u00a0 <\/span>Such initiatives as third-party reporting centres are also promoted, to ensure that people can safely report any instances of hate crime they encounter in a safe environment.\u00a0 <\/span>A Police Scotland video<\/span><\/a> \u2013 What is A Hate Crime<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 provides more information on Third Party Reporting. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The GVAWP also promote the <\/b>White Ribbon Campaign<\/b><\/span><\/a> and take part every December in 16 Days of Action to Eliminate Violence Against Women<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span>This is a global awareness-raising campaign that aims to raise awareness of the impact of violence against women.  <\/span><\/p>\n
