ENGAGING JUSTICE – NEW JUSTICE VOLUNTARY SECTOR NETWORK

BY KATHLEEN CASKIE

Glasgow Third Sector Interface Network

In 2020 third sector organisations with an interest in criminal & community justice working in Glasgow came together to form a new Justice Voluntary Sector Network (VSN), supported by the Glasgow Third Sector Interface Networks (GTSIN) team.

The Justice Voluntary Sector Network provides an opportunity for organisations to share knowledge and experience, and identify areas of good practice that contribute to, and influence, planning of Justice services in Glasgow. Specifically, the Glasgow Justice VSN selected and supported third sector representatives to key structures within Glasgow including:

SAFE Glasgow Partnership

Community Justice Glasgow Partnership

Although lockdown measures have presented networking challenges, virtual collaboration has been a theme. It is anticipated that the network will host a programme of events in 2021-2 for interested organisations to come together to learn from each other and form new collaborations and partnerships. We hope this network will contribute to work which prevents crime, supports victims’ recovery, and assists in the rehabilitation of people convicted of crimes.

Glasgow Third Sector Interface Networks continues to operate a mailing list, sending out to interested organisations key information and opportunities for all interested in the various justice agendas.

If you would like to be added to this mailing list, contact Ania.Neisser@GlasgowThirdSectorInterfaceNetwork.Scot
